Do you remember chocolate peanut butter no-bake cookies?
These peanut butter protein balls are an easier, much healthier version than the traditional chocolate no-bake cookies. And they taste even better!! No lie.
The original no-bake cookies were something I looked forward to at every girl scout fundraiser or gathering that parents were bringing cookies too. We’re talking the 80s here people. They seemed to be a staple for cookie gathering in the 80s. They were my favorite. But have you ever tried to make them? They are called no bake but the process wasn’t as easy as it sounds. If you didn’t melt the tremendous amount of sugar correctly they were way too soft or turned dry and super crumbly ridiculously fast.
Well, no worries here. This Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Ball recipe takes the cookies of yesteryear and gives them a healthy much more simple makeover. Can I just take a minute to state how damn tasty they are too?
4 ingredients people. Let me say it again for the people in the back. 4 incredibly healthy ingredients. Dates, oats, PB, cacao. Super simple.
Seriously, when I was crafting this recipe I was thrilled to make them over and over again to make sure I had every ratio just perfect.
These protein balls are my all time favorite snack when I am craving something sweet *the best part is these are sweetened with dates 😉 * or need an afternoon pick-me-up or snack on the run. Grab a ball and enjoy it on the go.
I always keep a bag of these goodies in my freezer because they thaw in seconds and are simple to take on the run.
